Hotel Schlee - Ristorante Il Brigante

I love this little place, 20 minutes outside of Munich, just far enough to feel like you are not in a big city, close enough to enjoy the city. I have stayed here many times over the past 30 years and it only gets better. The restaurant is fantastic and the pizza is the best I have ever had. I cannot say enough about the Hotel Schlee.

We stayed here for a few nights during Oktoberfest. I completely recommend it for anyone not wanting to stay downtown or trying to find something a little cheaper. There were still people dressed up and heading into the city, ourselves included, even from this far away! Plus you're one of the first stops for the train so it's easier to get seats. Pros: -The location of the hotel is fantastic with it being just steps away from a train station directly into downtown Munich. -The owners are super kind and allowed for us to arrive late because of car issues. -The breakfast is included in the hotel and is a delicious German spread of meats, breads, cheeses, etc. -There is a full service restaurant right downstairs. Sadly we didn't get to eat in it due to timing but it's location would be so convenient. -The town itself, while small, is super quaint and pretty. Cons: -The room had two single beds instead of a queen or king size.
